Abyssinian Breeze Statement

Due to a new regulation passed by New York City, the sale of cats is now prohibited, and as a result, our cattery is being closed.

We may attempt to relocate our two core breeding cats to a jurisdiction where responsible cattery operation is still legal — but only if we are able to secure the necessary resources.

In the meantime, we have several beautiful Abyssinian cats available who urgently need new homes. We are actively collecting rehoming applications to find the most suitable placements for them.

Our cattery was never profit-driven. In fact, we have never made a profit. The rehoming fees we’ve received in the past have always been far below the real costs of ethical care, housing, food, medical attention, and time.

The cats currently available have each required well over $10,000 in total expenses during their time with us.

These cats are available free of charge, with only a small rehoming fee.

Voluntary donations of any size — whether or not you are adopting — are deeply appreciated and help us ensure a safe, respectful closure of our work
